When we rebuild Ford N-Series, 600, 800, or Jubilee tractors for resale; we start by draining the coolant & all the lubes. The sheet metal components are all removed, namely engine hood, fuel tank, fenders, tool box, battery box. The radiator is removed, along with the steering wheel, all instrumentation, electrical wiring, lights, starter, generator. The wheels are removed. The wheel discs are taken off the rims. Calcium chloride liquid ballast is drained, tires are dismounted from rims. We remove the carburetor, manifold, front axle. All openings & ports are then sealed off. The unit and its components are then moved out for degreasing & washing. After washing, the tractor frame and parts are sandblasted. Following this process, the parts are brought into the shop. The engine is removed from the tractor, and is stripped down. All parts are cleaned and inspected. The crankshaft is sent to a machine shop for grinding. The transmission, diff & rear axles are removed. Gears, shafts and bearings are inspected, and worn or failed parts are replaced. All seals and gaskets are replaced. The 3PH hyd. pump is serviced. All 3PH components are repaired, or replaced. The steering box is disassembled and serviced as required. The front axle is dismantled. Axle pivot bushing, pivot pin are replaced. Spindle bushings and spindle thrust bearings are replaced. All tie-rod ends that are loose or worn are replaced. The clutch, flywheel & pressure plate are serviced. Transmission input shaft seal is replaced. The engine rebuild consists of supplying new main bearings & rod bearings to suit the newly ground crankshaft. The camshaft and lifters are inspected. Valves are ground, seats refaced. New guides are installed. Valve clearances are adjusted. Sleeves, pistons & rings are replaced unless the condition of the pistons is good. Piston pin bushings are replaced & fitted to the piston pins. Oil pump is rebuilt, along with the governor, carburetor & water pump. Engine is assembled, all gaskets and seals replaced. The starter is serviced. Distributor is serviced, with points, condenser, rotor, distributor cap being replaced. The flywheel ring gear is replaced if so required. The engine is installed on tractor frame. Brakes are serviced. The tractor frame & front axle are prepared & painted. All sheet metal components are repaired, primed & painted. Rims are primed with epoxy primer on the inside, painted on exterior. New tires and tubes are mounted on the tubes. The tractor is then assembled. All new wiring & instrumentation are provided. The system is converted to 12 volt negative ground. The tractor is fitted with a Delco alternator, an hour meter is provided, and an ignition on panel light is installed. All new lubes are filled, coolant supplied, engine coolant heater in place. The tractor is started, operating parameters are adjusted. Cylinder head & exhaust manifold retorqued. Engine hood, fuel tank & grille are installed, headlights are wired in. All necessary paint touchup is completed, seat cushion installed, decals installed. We check unit for leaks or malfunctions. Upon sale of the tractor to the customer, we supply an engine break-in directive, supply an extra engine oil filter and ask the customer to change the engine oil and filter after the first 15 hours of operation. A 90-day Parts Warranty is included.
